It’s hot in the city-and hot on my “delicious gluten-free food” list. Delicious and decadent, I have no regrets that for a day all I lived on was cake and coffee.Īct Parks Depot, Barrine Dr, Parkes | Open Monday to Sunday, 10 am – 3 pm | Luna (City) But forget about nibbling on dry brownies while sipping tea or coffee-when I sat down at The Marion, an overflowing tower full of gluten-free cakes, finger sandwiches, and scones served with raspberry jam and fresh cream was set in front of me. Usually, gluten-free high teas can be a bit…disappointing. Okay-so I’ve mentioned The Marion before in our article covering the best things we’ve put in our mouths this year, but when you get a totally gluten-free high tea that’s so good you want to cry, it’s worth bringing up time and time again (hence why it made that list). Think goodies like chorizo and egg rolls with provolone and salsa, tomato tostadas with nectarine, pipian sauce, and mozzarella, carnitas tacos, spiced toasted muesli, and more. And let me tell you, sitting down and being told literally the whole breakfast and lunch menu is gluten-free absolutely made my day. Using Latin American recipes and ingredients (think: things like potato, chorizo, fruit, goat’s cheese, and avocado) the beauty of their menu is it’s all naturally made without gluten. Why? Literally, everything is-or can be-gluten-free (minus the pastries).
